Silversmith
Willa Hilfreich’s silver rings are made using the lost wax technique, a method dating back 6,000 years.
The imagery Willa carves into the rings is borrowed from objects she encounters and lived experiences. Some of the objects are sought out in museum collections and others she comes across by chance in books or as details in daily life.
Willa enjoys the naivety that drawing quickly into hard wax with blunt tools produces and the way it looks when cast in silver.
